Diva Secret #2Focus On The Fabulous!

I recently wrote a Special Report that I’d like to share with you.
It’s called
"The Diva’s 7 Secrets to Speaking or Performing With Confidence, Ease and Charisma." I’ll be posting these Secrets one by one over the next few weeks. Enjoy!

___________
Secret #2
Focus on the Fabulous

What are you thinking about right now?

Whatever it is, it’s effecting your experience and creating your future.

According to the Law of Attraction, whatever you think about, give your attention to and focus upon is what is created, or attracted into, your life. There is an energy and vibration in your thoughts, and that energy attracts more of the same. In other words, whatever you feed with your thought and energy, grows and expands into your experience.

So, what are you thinking about when you’re about to speak in public or perform onstage?

If you’re like most of my clients, you’re worrying about all the things that can go wrong. “What if I mess up? What if my body shakes uncontrollably? What if I forget what I’m saying? What if I trip? What if…”

Stop it!

This kind of thinking is not helping you. It’s only scaring you and making you feel more anxious. And, this kind of thinking is feeding what you don’t want.

When you catch your mind spinning with all the disasters that may befall you, just stop and choose to start thinking about what you DO want. “I want to feel relaxed and at ease. I want everything to go smoothly. I want to make a great connection with my audience. I want to express myself freely. I want to tell people what I know. I want to really enjoy this opportunity.”

By thinking about what you do want, you get your mind working for you rather than against you and you start attracting those things you want into your experience.

I used to say that the mind is a wonderful thing to lose. I said this because it seemed that anytime I was getting ready to perform or do something challenging, my mind would barrage me with insults and fearful thoughts about how I wasn’t up to it, how I might make a fool of myself, how I wasn’t good enough. Yuck! Who needs THAT?

But now I realize that the mind is good for three things: choosing, focusing and imagining.

Use your mind to choose to focus on what you want, not on what you don’t want. Let your mind help you get your energy moving towards all the fabulous things that you want to experience during this opportunity to express yourself.

Focus on how you want to feel, on what you want to experience. Imagine it all going exactly as you want it to go. See yourself expressing yourself fully and fearlessly. Let your mind feed all those fabulous thoughts.

Don’t wait until just before you go on stage to focus on the fabulous. Start focusing on what you want as you prepare, as you create what you are going to say or do. Let your mind keep focusing your energy there as you allow yourself to feel the joy and pleasure of having everything go just the way you want it to go. Feel now all the fun and pleasure you want to feel then.

In the Unconditional Confidence trainings, we do a process called Focus on the Fabulous which allows you to feel fabulous in any situation. Through this process, you become quickly grounded in having the experience you want to have so that when you are ready to step into that situation, you get to feel great, no matter what. While I don’t usually make the recording of this process available outside of the Unconditional Confidence® training programs, if you email me with a request, I will send you a CD of this process.

Meanwhile, take a moment now to think about what you want to experience the next time you are speaking or performing. Let yourself imagine it just the way you want it to be. How do you want to feel? What do you want to have for yourself? What do you want to say or do? Let yourself indulge deeply in these thoughts, and be sure to luxuriate in the feelings of joy and satisfaction of having it be exactly as you want it to be.

Now, your mind may interrupt your imagining by saying, “Are you crazy? That will never happen!” That’s okay. That’s just an old habitual thought trying to ruin your fun. Just wad it up and throw it into the backseat like an empty candy wrapper and keep enjoying your ride to what you want!

Remember, what you think about is what you create in your experience. So be sure to think about what you want.
